Adventures your dog will love.

Your dog needs more than a backyard. Our local walkers take them on proper one-hour adventures through the Gold Coast's best parks, beaches, and trails — rain or shine. You'll get photos and a written route summary after every walk so you know exactly where they went and how much fun they had.

How it works

1

Book a walk

Pick your preferred time slot — early morning before work, midday energy burn, or afternoon wind-down. Set up a one-off or a recurring weekly schedule. We'll match you with a reliable local walker who lives near you.

2

Sitter arrives

Your walker arrives at your door right on time. They'll let themselves in (key, lockbox, or smart lock — your choice), greet your dog, clip on the leash, and head out. No ringing the doorbell three times or texting 'I'm outside.'

3

1-hour adventure

A full 60 minutes of structured exercise, sniffing, and exploration. Your walker chooses the route based on your dog's breed, energy, and preferences — whether that's a beach sprint at Tallebudgera Creek, Burleigh Hill and the Esplanade lawns, or a social session in Hinterland Regional Park's fenced run.

4

Route + photos sent

Once home, your dog gets fresh water and a pat. You'll receive photos from the adventure and a written route summary — where they walked and for how long — plus a quick note about your dog's energy, behaviour, and any observations. It's accountability you can actually see.

What's included

1-hour structured walks

This isn't a quick 15-minute toilet break or a distracted scroll-on-the-phone lap around the block. Your dog gets a genuine full hour of structured exercise, environmental enrichment, and all the sniffing their nose desires. For high-energy breeds, that means running and fetch. For seniors, it means a gentle, purposeful amble with lots of interesting smells.

Local parks & beaches

Our walkers are Gold Coast locals who know every off-leash area, beach access point, shaded trail, and water fountain in their suburb. Hinterland Regional Park's fenced run in Mudgeeraba for social butterflies, Schuster Park in Tallebudgera for space to run, Palm Beach for ocean-loving dogs, Hinze Dam trails for adventurous breeds. Your dog gets variety, not the same boring block walk every day.

Written route summary

After every walk, you'll receive a written summary of the route — where your dog walked, roughly how far, and how long they were out. Paired with the photos, it's proof that your dog actually got a proper walk. No more wondering if the walker cut it short.

Post-walk report

Your walker sends a summary after every session — how your dog's energy was, whether they socialised well, anything notable like a minor limp, a new dog friend at the park, or a very important ibis. Over time, these reports build a picture of your dog's walking personality.

Reliable schedule

Dogs thrive on the same walker at the same time — that's exactly how we schedule it. Your dog learns the routine, knows what's happening, and gets to build a genuine bond with one walker instead of meeting a stranger every week.

All breeds & sizes

From 3kg Chihuahuas to 60kg Great Danes, our walkers are experienced with every size, breed, and temperament. Reactive dogs get quiet routes away from triggers. Pullers get a walker who knows loose-leash techniques. Senior dogs get a gentle pace with extra sniff breaks. We match the walk to the dog, not the other way around.

Full-hour walks

Your walker covers real distance through Gold Coast parks and trails — not a quick loop around the block.

Photo updates

Get photos from the walk so you can see your pup having the time of their life.

Common questions

Where do your walkers walk?
Our walkers know the Gold Coast inside and out. Popular spots include Hinterland Regional Park in Mudgeeraba (a big fenced off-leash run, great for social dogs), Schuster Park in Tallebudgera (open space, perfect for runners), Tallebudgera Creek (calm water for wading dogs), Palm Beach (ocean beach with an off-leash dog section — check council signage for current hours), Burleigh Hill and the Esplanade lawns (on-lead, with the surf views the headland is famous for), and quiet suburban routes for dogs who prefer a calmer experience. Your walker chooses based on your dog's needs — and they'll rotate locations to keep things interesting.
Is it a solo or group walk?
Every PetHero walk is a private, one-on-one experience — just your dog and the walker. No shared group walks, ever. This means your dog gets 100% of the walker's attention, the route is tailored entirely to their needs, and you never have to worry about your dog being paired with a dog that's not a good match. If you have multiple dogs from the same household, they can walk together.
What if it's raining?
Light rain? Dogs love it — walks go ahead as planned. Heavy storms or dangerous conditions (severe thunderstorms, hail, extreme heat over 35°C)? Your walker will adjust. They might do a shorter covered route, an indoor play session, or a car-ride adventure to a sheltered park. You'll always be notified beforehand, and no walk is ever cancelled without a solution offered.
Can I request a specific time?
Absolutely. When you book, select your preferred time slot and we'll match you with a walker available at that time. Want the same 7:30am slot every Tuesday and Thursday? Done — recurring slots are exactly how we schedule walks, because consistency is what dogs thrive on. Need to change a time occasionally? Just let us know at least 12 hours ahead.
What if my dog is reactive?
Reactive dogs are more common than people think, and we're experienced with them. Let us know during booking about your dog's triggers — other dogs, bikes, skateboards, loud noises, whatever it is. We'll match you with a walker who has reactive dog experience and who knows the quiet, low-traffic routes in your area. Many reactive dogs actually improve with consistent, structured walks where they feel safe and in control.
