Yes — we arrange a meet-and-greet before your booking is confirmed, so you and your pet can meet your matched sitter and you can approve the fit. No surprises, no booking a stranger sight-unseen. If it's not right, we rematch at no cost.

Every sitter carries your vet's details plus the nearest 24/7 emergency hospital's, and you're contacted immediately if anything seems off. If the booking itself goes wrong, our PetHero Guarantee covers you — we'll rematch you or refund you. One thing we're upfront about: PetHero doesn't currently carry pet medical insurance, so vet costs aren't something we can cover yet — we recommend keeping your own pet insurance, and we'll always tell you exactly what is and isn't covered before you book.

Cancel more than 48 hours before your booking starts and you get a full refund. Between 24 and 48 hours it's a 50% refund, and within 24 hours the booking is non-refundable — that compensates the sitter who blocked out their calendar for you. If your sitter ever cancels, you're refunded in full. The policy is shown on your booking screen before you pay, never buried.

Refunds go back to your original payment method, and any care-package credit you used is restored to your balance in the same proportion. The amount follows the cancellation policy — full refund more than 48 hours out, 50% between 24 and 48 hours, non-refundable within 24 hours — and if your sitter cancels, you're always refunded in full.

No — rates are the same every day of the year, including public holidays and school holidays. No surge pricing, no holiday surcharges. That said, holiday periods book out fastest, so reserve early for the best choice of sitters.

You can — requests go to our team the moment you book, and we'll confirm a match as fast as we can. More notice means more choice of sitters, but if you're in a bind, submit the booking and we'll get to work straight away.

Puppies are welcome. For daycare we ask that puppies are at least 12 weeks old with their first two vaccination rounds; for overnight stays and home visits we simply match you with a sitter experienced with puppies. Tell us their age in the booking notes and we'll plan around toilet breaks and nap-heavy routines.

Absolutely — senior pets are some of our favourite guests. We match older pets with patient sitters who are comfortable with slower walks, medication routines and extra rest. Share your pet's age, mobility and medication details in the booking notes and we'll build the match around them.

Absolutely. Just let us know in your booking notes and we'll make sure your pet's routine is followed exactly — medication, dietary needs, anxiety management, everything.

No hidden fees, and no platform fee for owners — unlike other apps that add a service fee on top, the listed price is what you pay, and it goes to your sitter's care. Overnight stays start at $65/night with discounts for longer stays, and you can save more with our monthly care packages.
